Emma is originally from small-town New Hampshire but has lived in Jersey City with their husband, Peter, and cat, Te Fiti, since 2019. In addition to North River Sing, Emma is a frequent performer in the Jersey City Cabaret and, as an undergraduate, was a dedicated member of the Wagner College Choir. Prior to relocating, she studied Uechi-ryu karate for nearly twenty years, achieving the rank of sandan (third-degree black belt). Emma currently works for the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC) and regularly volunteers as a health center escort with Planned Parenthood.
